BELLUM DACICUM TRAIANI

Coriolan Horaţiu Opreanu

- abstract -

The author invokes facts to support the idea that would be proper to say just "Trajan's Dacian war", developed in two separate expeditions (101-102 and 105-106). The first campaign brought critical politic and strategic consequences for the entire Danube area, the Dacian kingdom being drastically shrunk. It is proposed a new sketch for the campaign's topography, more realistic. Finally it is drawn another geographical vision for the second campaign, when the Dacian state is abolished.

It is further to discuss the mechanism that drove to the establishment of Provincia Dacia, as well as its strategic meaning.
