Colectivul Muzeului Național de Istorie a României anunță cu profundă tristețe plecarea dintre noi a doamnei Dr. Barbara Deppert-Lippitz, cercetător în domeniile arheologiei și artei clasice romane și totodată unul dintre cei mai importanți experți în artefacte antice produse din metale prețioase. Instituția noastră îi este profund recunoscătoare pentru eforturile neobosite făcute pentru recuperarea celebrelor brățări dacice din aur descoperite în zona Sarmizegetusa Regia și exportate ilegal din România. A fost una una dintre cele mai puternice voci care au vorbit despre unicitatea și importanța istorică a acestor artefacte și care au ajutat la autentificarea și reconstituirea complicatei istorii a brățărilor.
Ne alăturăm întregii comunități academice din Europa și Statele Unite ale Americii care deplânge dispariția doamnei Dr. Barbara Deppert-Lippitz. Transmitem pe această cale condoleanțele noastre familiei îndurerate.

It is with deep sadness that the staff of the National Museum of Romanian History announces the departure of Dr. Barbara Deppert-Lippitz, a researcher in the fields of archaeology and classical Roman art and one of the leading experts in ancient artifacts made of precious metals. Our institution is deeply grateful to her for her tireless efforts to recover the famous Dacian gold bracelets discovered in the Sarmizegetusa Regia area and illegally exported from Romania. She was one of the strongest voices speaking out about the uniqueness and historical importance of these artifacts and helping to authenticate and reconstruct the intricate history of the bracelets.
We join the entire academic community in Europe and the United States in mourning the passing of Dr. Barbara Deppert-Lippitz. We send our condolences to the bereaved family.
